Lights, camera, action!

Selling is an action verb. If your role is to generate revenue for your company then you need to drive the action. This is also true for those of you who support the sales team doing whatever is necessary to create positive customer experiences. Whenever you communicate with a customer, you are selling, validating, informing, following up and positioning. All of these are sales functions and they, too, are all about action. Selling = forward momentum. How will you drive your business forward this week? How many new contacts will you reach out to? How many face-to-face meetings will you have to discuss new opportunities? Who will you ask for an introduction, referral and/or testimonial? You get the idea. This is purposefully short so you can stop reading and get moving. NEWS TO SHARE: This is the first line of an email I received two weeks ago: 'Congratulations. You have been selected to speak at the TEDxGreenvilleSalon: Open Mic on September 20.' TWO THINGS ABOUT THIS NEWS:

  1. The actions I took to create the idea and submit it are what resulted in being selected.
